After   organics   the idea of   permaculture   came about, and from that fusion has slowly come forward   agriculture as a mimic of nature; or agriculture utalising the  ethnobotanicals   of a region. |
Instead of recreating the landscape for agriculture, looking at the landscape and saying that this micro-site of the bioregion could have supported these economic plants.     If I place them in this mix at this density I can obtain a viable crop that will support myself and the other animals of the local biosphere. |
The beauty of this approach is that it can exist alongside conventional agriculture providing regeneration of riparian zones and shelter belts.           I wild-craft from my eco-zones and am planting fruit, nut and timber trees as well as trees with oil-bearing leaves.     My long term goal being self-sufficiency in my raw flavouring materials for my Liqueurs, wild dried herbs, essential oils and craft timber. |
